Trial Lawyer’s Dream, Job Creator’s Nightmare

Hello All

Here we go again!!!!

Below, you will find an article from the U. S. Chamber of Commerce outlining some anticipated legislation to be brought up in the lame duck session of Congress.

It seems that now the left wants to pass legislation that will not allow employers to decide who gets paid what.  Market forces would no longer determine pay.  Rather, the government will set in place regulations that will determine whether someone is being discriminated against in the pay area.  It is called “The Paycheck Fairness Act”.  Please contact your legislators via the link provided to object to this legislation.

Trial Lawyer’s Dream, Job Creator’s Nightmare
Act Now To Stop this bill

The American people voted for change in last week’s elections — but that obviously wasn’t enough to stop the majority leadership from pushing job-killing bills through during the lame duck session.

In fact, such a bill is scheduled for a vote next week in the Senate: the deceptively-named “Paycheck Fairness Act.”

Under this wrongheaded bill, employers would no longer be able to pay employees differently based on market forces, negotiating ability or even the amount of revenue they generate in return for the employer.

This bill is a trial lawyer’s dream — opening up American employers to a flood of frivolous “discrimination” lawsuits.

Please click here today to email your Senators to urge them to oppose it.

Just how bad would this bill be for the American economy? According to a Washington Examiner column:

If enacted, the Paycheck Fairness Act would raise unemployment even higher than 9.6 percent by trapping firms in litigation and encouraging them to reduce hiring and move operations abroad.

This bill is bad for business, bad for the economy, and simply bad practice by an outgoing Congress that no longer represents the will of the voters.

The bill is scheduled for a vote on November 17 — so we need your immediate action to help stop it. Please click here to email Congress today.

With an unstable economy, and an even more unstable jobs market, the last thing business needs is more lawsuits. We need to empower job creators, not trial lawyers.

Email your Senators now to help stop the so-called Paycheck Fairness Act.

Thank you for your immediate action to stop this dangerous bill.

Sincerely,

Bill Miller
